Uzbek food industry invests € 20 million in new orders with Celtic Cooling

Celtic Cooling signs two contracts for new IQF-installations in Uzbekistan

Alkmaar / Nieuw-Vennep, 8 June 2016 – At the end of May a trade delegation from Uzbekistan and GMV, branch organization of machine producers for the Netherlands’ food processing and packaging industry, signed two cooperation agreements. Among others, these contained a declaration of intent to award € 31 million in orders to GMV member companies. Co-signatory was Joost van Klink, general director of Celtic Cooling, signing for € 20 million.

In Uzbekistan Celtic Cooling has already sold three IQF-installations (Individual Quick Frozen), the first of which will become operational this month. At the time of writing, a transport is on its way to Tashkent to deliver a similar installation for freezing fruit and vegetables to the company Gold Dried Fruit. This installation will become operational after the summer.

From 23-27 May the trade delegation of some ten Uzbek companies was hosted in the Netherlands by GMV. The delegation was composed mainly of companies in vegetable and fruit processing as well as cool storage and trade organizations. GMV accompanied the delegation on company visits throughout the country.

On 24 May, the two cooperation agreements were signed in Alkmaar, declaring the intention to award € 31 million in orders to GMV member companies. € 20 million of this amount was signed with Celtic Cooling. During the mission a substantial part of the intention was already converted into orders.
