BOHEMIAN FLOWERS
🌸 Project completion at Bohemian Farm
A nice project completed at Bohemian Farm in Kongoni, Kenya — a site where scale and continuous development are part of daily operations.
For this expansion, we delivered and installed a new receiving cold room to support the farm’s post-harvest process and maintain product quality right from intake.
The cold room measures 17.0 x 7.6 x 3.0 meters and is designed to maintain a steady +2°C, ideal for flower storage
A key part of this project was the integration of existing equipment on site, combined with a newly built refrigeration setup. This approach allows for efficient use of available resources while still delivering reliable performance. The existing units are switching based on runtime and both units will step in when it's needed. Creating a redudant and energy efficiënt setup.
The new system includes a custom-built compressor setup, air-cooled condenser, and two evaporators to ensure even airflow and consistent cooling throughout the room
Given the farm’s location at around 1,900 meters altitude, the installation was designed with peak conditions in mind to ensure stable operation year-round
The cold room itself is constructed using insulated sandwich panels and finished with practical features such as LED lighting, a sliding door, and sliding strip curtains to support day-to-day use.
All installed and commissioned on site together with the Celtic Kenya team.
A solid and practical addition to an already impressive operation.
Great collaboration and well done to everyone involved 👏
